Just caught wind of something pretty significant - Trump's administration is moving forward with a massive travel ban that could affect citizens from 43 countries trying to enter the US. This is actually a bigger move than most people realize right now.

So here's how it breaks down. There are 11 countries facing a complete embargo - Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. These are basically total lockdowns for entry.

Then you've got another 10 countries with partial restrictions - Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan. Citizens can technically still enter but it's heavily restricted. Basically, only wealthy business travelers might slip through, while regular tourist and immigrant visas get shut down. Plus anyone from these countries needs to go through mandatory in-person interviews now.

But wait, there's more. An additional 22 countries are getting a 60-day warning period - Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. They've got two months to sort out whatever concerns Washington has, or they'll face similar bans.

This echoes what Trump did back in 2017 during his first term with the seven majority-Muslim countries ban, which eventually got upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018. Looks like he's doubling down on that approach now that he's back in office.

The implications are pretty wild when you think about it - this affects international business flows, remittances, talent mobility, and honestly, it's another layer of fragmentation in global markets. Worth watching how this plays out.
