CryptoWorld News reports that the Pi Network core team has announced that all node operators must upgrade to protocol 23 by May 15 in order to maintain network connectivity. Protocol 23 introduces support for smart contracts, aiming to expand real-world application scenarios and developer activities. The current trading price of Pi tokens is approximately $0.179, and it is expected that 184.5 million tokens will be unlocked in May, which may increase selling pressure. The team emphasized that this upgrade is mandatory, and that timely participation by node operators is crucial to ensure a smooth transition. The team also warned that this upgrade will take longer than previous migrations and advised operators to plan in advance.
