On October 12, on-chain detective ZachXBT posted that "there are still too many unknown factors regarding the high-profile identity event of BTC Whale swapping for ETH, and I cannot draw a conclusion that I am willing to publish. All the posts currently under scrutiny are actually exaggerated versions of immature theories. What is known is that Garrett Jin / Exe seems to have started collaborating with a Chinese Whale, who had previously had ten-digit funds dormant on-chain until recently. " Previous reports indicated that CZ retweeted a tweet from on-chain detective Eye revealing the identity exposure of the high-profile BTC Whale swapping for ETH: suspected to be former BitForex CEO Garrett Jin, stating, "I am not sure about the authenticity, and I hope someone can help cross-verify." On-chain analyst MLM expressed his views on the timing of this exposure, saying, "I think it could really be him, but the question is—why would he publicly expose his identity using ENS?" Lookonchain stated, "Liquid Capital (formerly LD Capital) founder Yi Lihua may be in the know. The wallet 0x52d3 that transferred ETH to the ancient Bitcoin address to pay for gas fees also transferred 1.31 million USDC to the CEX deposit address of Yi Lihua's Trend Research."
