The Web3 Foundation will participate in the Polkadot OpenGov treasury voting.
PANews, October 1 - According to the official blog, the Web3 Foundation (W3F) announced that it will begin selectively participating in treasury proposal voting within the Polkadot OpenGov system starting today. W3F stated that as the number and scale of proposals rise, this move aims to contribute additional due diligence and transparency to treasury governance. Its main objectives include: protecting treasury funds, voting against proposals that are milestone or value unclear; enhancing community confidence through clear and consistent voting standards; and serving as a balancing force against short-term or opportunistic proposals. The Web3 Foundation is committed to adhering to the principle of “complete transparency” by providing public reasoning for each vote. In addition, the foundation will avoid any votes that may present a conflict of interest and will typically wait for initial community feedback before proceeding with voting. Meanwhile, its plan to delegate voting rights to community members, known as “Decentralized Voices,” will continue to operate concurrently.
