Left and right factions are arguing endlessly all over the world! Many places in Seoul, South Korea have erupted in protests supporting former Prime Minister Yoon Suk-yeol.
Seoul reports on the right-wing of South Korea's conservative party, the People Power Party (, the National Power Party ), which has launched large-scale protests for several days. The places they pass by are filled with drumbeats, attracting the attention of tourists. The supporters' demand is to support the ousted former Prime Minister Yoon Suk Yeol (. They wave English flags and shout "Yoon Again" and "Only Yoon." Although Yoon Suk Yeol has already stepped down and is currently being held by South Korean authorities for investigation into charges of rebellion, his wife, former First Lady Kim Keon-hee, is involved in a bribery scandal with the Unification Church leader, Han Hak-ja. With news of Han Hak-ja recently appearing in court, it has drawn wide attention from South Korean authorities and society. Supporters of Yoon Suk Yeol have taken to the streets to protest and even wave both the American and South Korean flags. Both Yoon Suk Yeol and Kim Keon-hee are under judicial investigation, but conservative crowds supporting them still firmly believe in their leaders. It seems that the division between left and right is not only present in the United States and Europe but also filled with conflict and disputes in Asia.
The leader of the Unification Church, Han Hak-ja, is involved in the trial of the bribery case concerning the former First Lady.
According to a report by Reuters in Seoul, the current leader of the Unification Church, Han Hak-ja, was questioned by prosecutors on Wednesday and is accused of allegedly bribing Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. This court interrogation is part of a criminal investigation into allegations of bribery involving former First Lady Kim Keon-hee.
After more than 9 hours of questioning, Han Hak-ja sat in a wheelchair and left the prosecutor's office through a crowd of media. She denied all accusations and firmly responded "No!" when asked if she instructed others to bribe. When asked why she refused a previous summons but later chose to accept questioning, she replied that she was not feeling well. Known as "True Mother" by her followers, Han is the widow of Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, who passed away in 2012, after which Han Hak-ja took over as the leader.
The former First Lady was indicted on charges of bribery and other offenses.
The special prosecutor in South Korea is expanding the investigation into former First Lady Kim Keon-hee, who is accused of multiple charges including bribery. The investigation targets various misconducts before and during Yoon Suk-yeol's presidency. Kim Keon-hee has already been detained for questioning. Han Duck-soo is accused of bribing the former First Lady and Yoon Suk-yeol's close friend, senior lawmaker Kweon Seong-dong. Prosecutor Kim Hyong-kun stated that conservative People Power Party lawmaker Kweon Seong-dong denies receiving bribes from the church, and the prosecutor told reporters that Kweon Seong-dong answered questions regarding allegations of violating political donation and anti-corruption laws. The prosecutor indicated that since he has already been questioned, the prosecution is currently not considering issuing an arrest warrant. Yoon Suk-yeol, on the other hand, remains detained as he is under investigation for rebellion charges brought by another special prosecutor, which are related to his declaration of martial law.
