Ethereum ETFs Break Losing Streak With $288 Million Inflows
After four straight days of outflows, U.S.-listed Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have finally turned the tide, attracting hundreds of millions in new institutional capital.
Inflows despite ETH price pressure According to SoSoValue, on August 21, Ethereum ETFs recorded a net inflow of $288 million, ending their losing streak. The bulk came from BlackRock’s ETHA fund, which captured $233 million, while Fidelity’s FETH added $29 million. Other issuers brought in more modest amounts of around $6–7 million each. This renewed interest comes even as the price of ETH remains under pressure. At the time of writing, ETH trades at $4,238, marking a 0.72% drop over 24 hours and an 8% decline this week. Still, Ethereum is up 15% for the month, reflecting longer-term resilience. The recent price downturn had weighed heavily on ETF performance, with Ethereum funds collectively losing nearly $926 million over the past four sessions.
Ethereum ETFs rise, Bitcoin ETFs struggle While Ethereum-focused funds are seeing renewed momentum, Bitcoin ETFs continue to bleed capital. Investor profit-taking and weakening demand have fueled consistent outflows. In the most recent trading session, Bitcoin ETFs lost $194 million, marking their fifth consecutive day of withdrawals. Overall, BTC funds have now shed close to $1.2 billion during this losing streak. The bulk of redemptions came from five major issuers — BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, Ark 21Shares, and Franklin Templeton — while the other seven issuers saw no activity. Like Ethereum, Bitcoin’s price has also been declining. It currently trades at $113,216, down 5% from last week and nearly 8.8% lower compared to earlier this month, when it was above $124,000.
Conclusion Ethereum ETFs have managed to stabilize with strong institutional backing, while Bitcoin ETFs remain under pressure from ongoing outflows. The rivalry between the two largest cryptocurrencies has once again shifted — this time with Ethereum taking the lead at the ETF level.
